Serving homeless adults and families and those threatened with homelessness

You can help

Connections provides housing, employment and supportive services to move individuals and families out of the shadow of homelessness.

Connections’ focus is on stability:

Personal stability:  seeing a dentist or medical professional, obtaining glasses, dealing with a mental health or substance abuse issue

Economic stability:  securing identification, obtaining employment, increasing job skills, continuing education, seeking professional help for a legal issue

Housing stability:  finding transitional shelter or permanent supportive housing as a path to permanent independent housing when possible

You Can Make a Difference Right Now….

The good news is the Employment Program of Connections is making a fair amount of placements – over 30 in the past 3 ½ months! The bad news is that we don’t have enough money in the budget for all the transit cards it takes to make this happen. We need your help! To get clients out to interviews, renew their driver’s licenses or state IDs and go for Employer paperwork and drug-screens, we need single ride CTA-Pace transit passes, $3 transit passes, $5 transit passes, and single day Fun CTA-Pace passes (good for all day!). To help our clients get to work until they receive their first paycheck or to help our low income single moms with kids, we need CTA-Pace weekly passes as well as CTA-Pace monthly passes. Whatever help you can provide is really going to make a difference in getting our unemployed clients back to work and helping our employed clients stay employed!
