Location

Connections for the Homeless now has offices in two locations:

• Family Housing Services is on the third floor of the Weissbourd-Holmes Family Focus Center at 2010 Dewey Avenue, Evanston.
• EntryPoint (street outreach) and Hilda’s Place (shelter/supportive services) are located in the lower level of the Lake Street Church in downtown Evanston. The shelter’s address is 1458 Chicago Avenue (between Lake Street and Grove Street). Access is via the walkway between Lake Street Church and the Music Institute of Chicago.

From the north—Green Bay Road south onto Ridge Avenue in Evanston. Left onto Grove Street. Cross over Sherman Avenue and park on the street (or in the lower level of the Holiday Inn lot).

From the south—north on Ridge Avenue to Grove Street. Turn right onto Grove Street. Cross over Sherman Avenue and park on the street (or in the lower level of the Holiday Inn lot).

From the west/northwest—east on Golf/Emerson to intersection of Green Bay/Emerson/Ridge. Turn right onto Ridge Avenue. Turn left onto Grove Street. Cross over Sherman Avenue and park on the street (or in the lower level of the Holiday Inn lot).

From the Edens (I-94)

Northbound: Take Dempster Street exit east into Evanston. Cross over McCormick Boulevard and Ridge Avenue to Chicago Avenue. Turn left (north) onto Chicago Avenue; proceed to the next block (Lake Street) and find street parking.

Southbound: Take Old Orchard exit east toward Skokie Boulevard (just east of Old Orchard Mall). Turn right onto Skokie Boulevard. At the next intersection (Golf), turn left. Proceed east on Golf/Emerson; cross over McCormick Boulevard to intersection of Green Bay/Emerson/Ridge. Turn right (south) onto Ridge Avenue, then left (east) onto Grove Street. Cross over Sherman Avenue and park on the street (or in the lower level of the Holiday Inn lot).

Driving Directions to 2010 Dewey Avenue

From the north—Green Bay Road south to Foster Street. Right onto Foster (at Mobil station) for 4 blocks. The Family Focus Center (3-story school building) is on your right, immediately past the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center.

From the south—north on Ridge Avenue to the “Y” intersection of Ridge and Green Bay Road. Bear left onto Green Bay for 2 blocks. Turn left (west) at Foster Street (at Mobil station). The Family Focus Center (3-story school building) is on the right, immediately past the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center.

From the west/northwest—east on Golf/Emerson to Dodge Avenue, approximately ½ mile from McCormick Boulevard. Turn left (north) onto Dodge for one block to Foster Street. Right onto Foster for 2½ blocks. The Family Focus building is on the left.

Public Transportation to 2010 Dewey Avenue

From Howard Street El stop (red, purple, and yellow lines) to the corner of Emerson and Dodge
Take CTA bus #205 or #206, which depart from Howard Street approximately every 15-20 minutes Monday - Friday (#206 only during rush hour). Following different routes, each bus passes through the intersection of Emerson and Dodge. Exit at that intersection. Walk east for 2 blocks to Dewey, then north on Dewey for one block to Foster. You will see the Family Focus building just ahead of you on the north side of Foster.

From West Evanston, catch #93 North California bus along Dodge, between Howard and Emerson. Exit at Emerson and Dewey. Walk 1 block north to Foster. You will see the Family Focus building just ahead of you on the north side of Foster.

From Davis Street purple line CTA station & Metra Davis Street, Evanston station: Take #93 North California bus, exit at Emerson and Dewey. Walk 1 block north to Foster. You will see the Family Focus building just ahead of you on the north side of Foster.
