The Permanent Supportive
Housing program is
designed to provide housing for homeless persons with disabilities
in scattered site units in the Evanston community
which will enable the individuals to remain successfully housed in
the community.
Those accepted must be homeless, must have a disabling condition
that interferes with some aspects of daily living and self sufficiency (eligibility for
SSI is not required), and must have some cash income either from benefits or employment or
some combination. Living units are furnished with a combination of new and used
items. Group and individual sessions and activities
are planned. Participants are
able to access Hildas Place Health Services, if needed, and
are assisted in
accessing community resources. Rent/program fee of no more than 30% of
individuals income is charged. Preference
is given to Evanston
residents or those with a strong connection or history with Evanston. |
