So many of our clients who are moving out of homelessness and into their own apartments have very limited supplies. Your gifts can go a long way to helping someone stabilize in their new Home.

Immediate Needs

Thanks to generous donations from supporters and volunteers, Connections has been able to provide transit cards for employment-related needs of clients – single-fare, both directions of travel and 7 day passes – and it has made it so much easier for clients and staff to not worry about the expenses of providing this valuable support. We can’t tell you how important and instrumental this support has been to helping our clients get a job and then in helping them get to their new jobs!

Here’s what Connections is most in need of right now for employment-related travel:

• For interviews and drug screens in Chicago, the  1 day fun pass which costs $5.75 has worked beautifully,
• For going to interviews in Evanston, Skokie and the surrounding suburbs, a single transit card loaded with $5.50 or $5.75 works great for both ways of travel with transfers on both CTA and Pace.
• For travel one way on either, a single fare with transfer costs $2.50
• We can always use a few more CTA/Pace 7 day passes ($28.00), but not a lot, thanks to previous donations
