2002 Connections Celebrates! Connections held its annual fundraising gala, The Spring Benefit-Celebrating Connections, on Friday, April 19, 2002. The event was held at the Omni Orrington in Evanston and raised nearly $40,000 for Connections' three programs. More than 200 guests enjoyed an evening of fine food, live music, dancing, and a silent auction. Tim Kazurinsky, actor and screenwriter, emceed the event, and his wife Marcia participated with a heart-warming musical performance. The Evanston Police Department was honored as Connections' Community Partner of the Year. According to Chief Frank Kaminski, "It is the City of Evanston's good fortune to have an organization of Connections' scope and dedication within our community. Your [Connections'] efforts to improve the quality of life for residents are commendable." A significant funder of Connections' health services since 1997, VNA Foundation, was honored as the agency's Foundation Partner of the Year. The evening was a great celebration of the agency's connections with the community and individuals, and most importantly, a recognition of the connections that are made daily for program participants.
