Homelessness Prevention Program

Prevention is the key to ending homelessness. If paired with a program that houses people living on the street, it creates the possibility of solving the problem. Working to remove people from the street without preventing new people from becoming homeless will never end the cycle.

Our Homelessness Prevention Program works with households facing foreclosure or eviction due to arrearages in mortgage, rent, or utilities. We help people become self-sufficient by stabilizing their current situation and providing education to help them manage their finances moving forward.

We provide initial help to clients in the form of financial aid. We then help them become stabilized via intensive, client-centered support that mixes workshops with one-on-one counseling. Case managers and clients collaborate to create detailed outcome plans with specific action steps that will help clients solve the problems that brought them to the point of crisis.
